With the way the internet is going things feel more disconnected than ever. The blindfolds of algorithms keep us from being able to see all that’s there in front of us. I don’t really like that haha. I hate talking to someone and them telling me that they already gave their take on something I ask about in a tweet I didn’t see because, idk the algo didn’t feel like letting me see it. It sucks man, there’s also something I read a long time ago about taking things into your own hands and moving away from pre-established platforms and building something yourself. They are only as good as the content we put there and yet they hold so much power over us. I like Tumblr but the idea of actually hosting a blog on there, at least in the way I envision doing it, isn’t very appealing. The internet used to be so customizable and I miss it. This is a way to tap into that and carve out my own little slice of the WWW.
